For the past 12 years, Dr. Steve Mount hasn't eaten on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.  She said that the key to maintaining her figure was eating only one meal per day (lunch IIRC). Intermittent fasting is about eating all that your body needs… while still allowing it to sometimes briefly rest from constant feeding. Intake of certain medications, certain liver and kidney disorders, states of extreme weakness or malnutrition, pregnancy, and certain types and stages of cancer are other examples of conditions that are not conducive to fasting. On Saturday I ate my typical breakfast of 4 egg whites, 2 whole eggs, and 6-8oz cooked baby spinach. I can think of nothing nutrition wise that ihave been doing differently to cause weight gain. For this reason, I think intermittent fasting is a great option for people who are looking to lose weight because it offers a simple way to cut down on the total number of calories you eat without changing your diet. I can really gain a lot of water weight after my refeed day (about 5 lbs) so it takes me a few days to take off that 5 lbs, and then 2 or 3 days before my next refeed is when I go lower on the scale than the week before.
